Castel Dal Pozzo History
In a setting of incomparable beauty, where the green of the ancient trees is reflected in the blue of Lake Maggiore. Castello Dal Pozzo is a prestigious location where to spend a holiday characterized by luxury and timeless charm.
The history of Castello Dal Pozzo is as unique as the elegance of its rooms, making it one of the most exclusive properties of Lake Maggiore: at the beginning of the '900 a Roman castrum was brought to light where the fifth Roman Legion seems to have been stationed.
In the mid-1700s, the descendants of the Visconti family, who had become Aragon in 1462, rebuilt a residential building on the remains of the original Castle. Alberto Visconti d'Aragona, the last descendant, was tried and sentenced to death around 1830 for his active participation in the Carbonari uprisings. His properties thus passed to his sister Virginia, consort of Bonifazio dal Pozzo d'Annone, of noble Piedmontese origins. Their son Claudio, a lover of art and architecture and particularly sensitive to the influences of the movement "Arts and Crafts" by William Morris, redesigned the structure transforming it into a neo-gothic castle in Victorian style surrounding it also a magnificent park.
The dwelling is placed on a spacious terrace, between the gentle slope of the hills that descend towards Arone and from which you can admire a breathtaking view of the lake basin until it flows into the river Ticino. The scenery is enriched by a wide range of high quality services, excellent catering and family hospitality, able to combine the modern with the old, the services of a luxury hotel with the atmosphere and the enchanting charm of an eighteenth-century residence.
In the elegant building 30 rooms welcome guests in refined luxury environments, where a recent renovation has been able not to cancel the ancient qualities that distinguish the personality, revaluing its splendor and recreating spaces dedicated to excellence hospitality. In keeping with this philosophy, modern comforts and cutting-edge technologies are harmoniously combined with furniture from the Dal Pozzo family's antique gallery.
Equally fascinating are the lounges of the Le Fief Restaurant, where the mastery of the Primo Chef develops a creative cuisine capable of reflecting the long tradition of the Castle, respecting the seasonality of first choice products. It is possible to taste dinners and lunches on the spectacular terrace of the restaurant or, for those who want a more intimate and reserved setting for romantic dinners or business lunches, in the exclusive rooms
The Convention Center of the property offers environments of great value, where alongside the elegant friezes are inserted discrete all the best technologies to allow the realization of the most disparate events: Wi-fi connection, radio and microphone system, control room for control audio and video of the rooms, air conditioning, bar, wardrobe and auditorium of 280sqm.
