The Neue Prager Hütteun category 1 alpine hut is located at 2796 m above sea level, in the Hohe Tauern National Park in the Innergschlöss, in one of the most evocative scenarios of the Eastern Alps In addition to the DAV-Haus Obertauern and the Klostertal hut, the Neue Prager Hütte is the third hut of the German Alpine Club.

Neue Prager Hütte History

Ideal starting point for the Groß Venediger, it also serves as a stop for the Venediger Runde. In addition, the surrounding environment is perfect as a training base on rock and ice

The Neue Prager Hütte hut was built between 1901 and 1903 with the participation of Johann Stüdl from Prague and was inaugurated on August 9, 1904. Elise Mühlburger managed the facility from 1908 to 1945.

In 2004 the refuge celebrated its centenary and acquired the name of historic building in 2014. The hut had been owned by the Oberland section for a long time, but in recent years it has come under the control of the Federal Association.
