The Neue Prager Hütte hut was built between 1901 and 1903 with the participation of Johann Stüdl from Prague and was inaugurated on August 9, 1904. Elise Mühlburger managed the facility from 1908 to 1945.
In 2004 the refuge celebrated its centenary and acquired the name of historic building in 2014. The hut had been owned by the Oberland section for a long time, but in recent years it has come under the control of the Federal Association.
