Inside a former Benedictine monastery stands Villa San Biagio, on a hill between Mason and Breganze where it is possible to dominate a panorama of incredible vastness and beauty. The complex includes, in addition to the villa, the barchesse, the dovecote and a chapel where an ancient Benedictine convent once stood.
Villa San Biagio History
Its history begins with a bull of Pope Gregory IV with which he granted to the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Giustina di Padova the ownership of some goods, including a farm located in Maxone with the chapel of St. Gall. The monks then dedicated themselves to the evangelization of the rural areas and tilled the surrounding land; between 1154 and 1156 they built a church dedicated to San Biagio inside the monastery, rebuilding it outside the walls. In the following centuries the monks abandoned Mason and the property passed from hand to hand various noble families from Vicenza. In 1969, finally, the Gualtiero family bought the former monastery and still continue the enhancement of the complex, restoring with care and passion the precious remains of the ancient past.
Villa San Biagio today offers visitors double rooms, studios, mini-apartments and a junior suite equipped with all comforts. Each room is fully furnished and independent, with double beds, telephone, TV, internet, mini bar and air conditioning. In addition to the classic rooms inside the hotel, since 2008 have been added modern cottages, modern ultramodern stilts where the living room is characterized by the contact of nature, in a continuous integration between interior and exterior.
The Bodega de Don Alfonso is the space dedicated to small events: meeting room, business meeting, tasting courses, equipped with screen, projector and ADSL connection. The four rooms of the structure, with a capacity ranging from 10 to 200 seats, will be perfect for hosting events of different types and with different needs. Terracotta floors, vaulted ceilings with exposed brickwork, are just some of the details that will capture the attention of guests.
Outside, however, you can organize a welcome drink in style, thanks to the convenient equipment and gazebos, which will allow you to spend pleasant moments in contact with nature and admire the beautiful views of the countryside of Breganze and Marostica.
