Zámek Potštejn History
Potštejn Castle is culture, history and fun for children and adults alike
The baroque castle was built in 1749 by Count Jan Ludvík Harbuval Chamaré. The most difficult period of its existence has now passed, and the castle has revived after reconstruction and offers visitors entertainment and culture.
A tour of the castle interior, a visit to the cellars (the famous Bubákov) is offered, and a fairy tale has been prepared for young children. You can see the magnificent castle interiors, which are located on the entire second floor and where the Chamare and Dobřenský families lived. There is the Golden Drawing Room, library, marble room, chapel, bedrooms, bathroom, music and children's room and more. From here, Antonín Chamaré went treasure hunting in a nearby castle. The English-style castle park was also opened. The jewel of the entire park is the beautiful rose garden next to the castle, a popular wedding venue.
Popular are the guided tours in Baroque costume for children and adults, which enchant and educate at the same time. Costumed actors, as the professors of the school of magic, will guide through the entire castle. The tour will be interactive, fun and informative. There will be lectures on botany, yoga and modern science.
Since 2011, Potštejn Castle has been preparing unforgettable nighttime experiences for visitors that will exceed all your expectations. Not only will you be frightened, but you will also laugh, have the opportunity to feast at the same table with the greedy Count Chamaré, and also, together, we will get a glimpse into the night life of the lords and ladies of the castle in the mid-18th century.
Finally, you are offered a place in the castle's patisserie, where skilled pastry chefs prepare delicious homemade cakes for guests every day
