By virtue of its rich history and considerable size, the building has been included in the list of historical sites recognized by the Institute of National Heritage, is located on the Piast Castle Trail, and still stands as an essential testimony to the events of the past. As a residential complex, Książ is recognized as the third largest castle in Poland and the largest in Lower Silesia.
Since 1991, the facility has been managed by Zamek Książ in Wałbrzych, Ltd. whose founder and owner is Gmina Wałbrzych (Wałbrzych local government). This company exists to ensure the security, day-to-day management, and proper maintenance of the Ksiąz castle complex and park, as well as other places of historical interest owned by Gmina Wałbrzych. The company's earnings are its sole source of financial support.
To this end, the company is constantly developing its services in order to meet visitors' expectations. The company mainly allows individuals or organized groups to visit the castle. Książ is also known throughout the region as the setting for numerous cultural events, festivals, exhibitions, film screenings, historical reconstructions, and galas.
