Villa Margon is a sixteenth-century house located in the lush greenery of the hills above Ravina. Surrounded by a century-old park, it gives its name to the nearby Locanda Margon, the Ferrari restaurant located on a suggestive natural terrace, where chef Alfio Ghezzi's haute cuisine reigns.
Villa Margon History
Villa Margon stands among the dense green of the woods and rows of hills that embrace Trento and with its sixteenth-century complex represents one of the most sumptuous monuments of Trentino. Among its centuries-old walls, the Villa has seen, during the years of the Council of Trent, cardinals and high prelates from all over Europe and emperors such as Charles V who according to tradition lived here. The Emperor narrates the deeds in a cycle of frescoes and his bed is one of the most significant furnishings of the villa.
Other rooms feature frescoes dedicated to the cycles of the Old and New Testaments, with landscape backgrounds rich in colors and references to sacred figures. Another theme present in other rooms is the rural one with nature that becomes the protagonist in the Cycle of the Months, where the secular traditions of rural life are magnificently represented.
From the name of the Villa the nearby Locanda Margon takes its name, created by the Lunelli family, owner of the Ferrari Cellars. A high level restaurant where Chef Alfio Ghezzi conceives and takes care of every dish in a perfect blend with home sparkling wine. The Locanda offers visitors a double proposal: the Gourmet Lounge, for those looking for refined menus and signature cuisine, and the Veranda, where there is space for a simple kitchen that combines the quality of raw materials with a fast service , ideal for dinners with friends or business lunches.
