Once a summer residence of the Savoy family that until the 40s chose it as a summer residence, Villa Las Tronas preserves the historic charm of the aristocratic residence with elegant rooms furnished with marble floors and fine wood furniture and equipped with every comfort. The hotel has a wellness center with sauna, turkish bath, fitness area and an outdoor swimming pool.
Villa Las Tronas History
Villa Las Tronas is surrounded on three sides by the sea. Only a road that runs on a rocky promontory connects it to the mainland and the seafront of Alghero. A straw-yellow plaster covers the façade of this turreted building, which stands out between the blue of the sky and the sea with a long profile of blackbirds.
Staying in this sort of "hotel island" means immersing yourself in an atmosphere full of charm, mainly due to its recent history. Until the forties, the villa was in fact the summer residence of the Savoy house during the stays in the land of Sardinia. A past that has left indelible traces in the type of hospitality offered, refined and discreet, and in the luxury of the interior. The living rooms are furnished with antiques of great value, which in part also characterize the bedrooms and the suite, original and all different in size and finish, but united by beautiful views and sunsets on Capo Caccia.
The restaurant offers a cuisine that takes with great philological devotion the great themes of the tradition of Alghero, focused on the flavors of the sea, such as crustaceans and fresh fish, but also meat dishes with Mediterranean aromas. Some terraces arranged on the cliff and in the lush garden allow sunbathing in complete tranquility. In summer, a pool of sea water and a dock for mooring small boats are open. Guests can also make free use of bicycles, a gym and fishing equipment.
