One of the most illustrious and noble Italian families, that Cesare Salvettì, writer from Bologna, derives from Arvoldo VI re of England 994. It was brought to Sicily, in the direction of Mugnos, by a Cuismigerio of the noble Bolognese Pepoli, secretary of King Manfredi, from whom he was elected castellan of Trapani with privilege given in Capua 7 July 1257. This family owned the baronies of Fiumegrande, Culcasi, Fontana-salsa, Michilcarari, Rabici, Salina di s. Todaro and Sanagia. A Francesco, baron of Fiumegrande, was a senator of the city of Trapani in the years 1572-1585; a Romeo held the same charge soon after and was captain of justice in the years 1602-1603. A Giuseppe and a Pietro were knights of the order of Malta in the early eighteenth century. In the nineteenth century they added the title of barons of the Salina di San Teodoro. In 1786, extinguished the line of the Pepoli branch, barons of Canedici, Fiume Grande, Riccardo Sieri Pepoli had inherited titles and assets joining the main branch of the Pepoli, barons of San Teodoro, along with the other properties of the fiefs of Adrigna and Adrignotta. Riccardo in 1827 was mayor of Trapani. The family promoted the Ospizio Sieri Pepoli, and in Erice built the Torretta Pepoli. Count Agostino Sieri Pepoli (1848-1910), son of Riccardo, founded in 1906, also with the collections of his brother Michele, the Museo Regionale Pepoli
Today he is represented by Pietro Pepoli and Palizzolo, baron of Rabici, an infantry captain in the Italian army.
