Villa Petrolo, located near the town of Montevarchi in a strategic position between Florence Arezzo and Siena, is a receptive structure composed of the main villa and three independent farmhouses. The structure is home to a renowned winery and guests can taste the products in a unique context, directly from the places where they are created.
Villa Petrolo History
A privileged position is that of Villa Petrolo, which is located at the center of an "art triangle" whose summits are Florence, Siena and Arezzo. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards of the property, the villa is at the center of a farm known for the production of fine wines and extra virgin olive oil. In the immediate vicinity there are only a building of Etruscan origin, Torre di Galatrona, a ancient Romanesque parish which houses works by Giovanni della Robbia and, one kilometer, the village of Mercatale.
The villa, preceded by an Italian garden of about one hectare, dates back to the early eighteenth century, when it was designed by the architect Massimiliano Soldani, who made it his residence.
Today the Villa offers holiday accommodation that can only be rented weekly, managed by the company's own staff. We pass from the two apartments in villa, prestigious for decorations and furnishings, for the most part ancient, to those obtained in the four more rustic and informal farmhouses, in typical Tuscan style. The apartment located on the main floor of the villa is so large that it can accommodate up to 17 people (with the possibility of adding other beds).
The swimming pool and the tennis court near the villa are available to guests who live there, while guests of the farmhouses can use two other swimming pools. On request, the ancient cellars and the traditional oil mill are places for guided tours, tastings and sale of products. Finally, the three lakes within the vast property are accessible for sport fishing.
