Castello Scandelluzza History

Wrapped in a suggestive medieval atmosphere, the Scandelluzza Castle, located just a few minutes from the historic center of Rome, is one of the most beautiful and fascinating 18th century castles in the region. Prince Filippo Maria Pellegrini, the current owner of the castle, opens the doors of his home to guests offering a fairytale setting: many small treasures of history and art, marble statues, inlaid marble tables of the eighteenth century, gilded wood carvings from the 1800s , Persian carpets, frescoes and antique fireplaces, silver candelabras are just some of the details that make this historic residence unique.

Guests can stay in the Xenia room, about 25 square meters, where there is a living room with antique furniture, a wooden bed inlaid from the sixteenth century, two single beds, period paintings, a fireplace in marble of the '700 and a bathroom with tub and shower.

Another apartment on the first floor of the castle is composed of an antique double bed and two single beds, ancient paintings of various schools and eras, an ancient marble fireplace, antique furniture, fine fabrics and antique carpets.

The third room features a large king-size bed, a sitting area with a fireplace, a bathroom with a shower and a Jacuzzi, and a magnificent view of the garden.

All accommodations are equipped with satellite TV and air conditioning.

Outside, the large flower garden offers its colors, scents and works of art in the afternoon strolls, with two great lions from the Canova school to welcome guests. Along the way we find a small church with seventeenth-century bell, twelve marble columns of ancient Rome, two marble vases from the 19th century and a marble sculpture representing Paolina Bonaparte.

Castello Scandelluzza offers a fairytale setting both for those looking for a relaxing stay, full of history and art, and for conventions, meetings and ceremonies, giving a precious touch to each special event.
