Hotel aan de Dam History
Hotel aan de Dam is a beautiful monumental building, in the center of the city of Middelburg,
it is located in a building that is officially called d'Oude Meulen and (according to tradition) was built under the architecture of Jacob van Campen for a member of the VOC council. Jacob van Campen is also the architect of the building on Dam Square in Amsterdam and known for his personal style, 'Dutch Classicism'. The building still retains many details from that era.
In the 13 rooms, standard, suites and deluxe suites, all with unique details, you experience the atmosphere of yesteryear, with all the amenities of today. After a restful night's sleep, a delicious breakfast will be served with fresh orange juice and delicious regional specialties.
Hotel aan de Dam is also a great place for a meeting, dinner, brunch or High Tea. The private garden in the center of town gives you the opportunity, with a drink or a bite from our special menu, to enjoy the sunshine.
Middelburg is the place to be for a weekend getaway. A walk through the city, a day of shopping, enjoy the beautiful museums or simply take some free time on a terrace. You can combine your stay in Middelburg with a walk on the beach in Domburg or a visit to the historic city of Veere.
