Le Cedrare restaurant is an integral part of the eighteenth-century Villa Perez-Pompei-Sagramoso, set in the greenhouses of the villa where in the past citrus plants were stored for the winter. The environment is therefore well lit by large windows, at the time necessary for a good flowering of citrus fruits, which overlook the large garden surrounding the villa.
History
Villa Sagramoso-Perez-Pompei, along with the castle of Illasi and the secular park that unites them, is considered the most conspicuous monument among the villas of Verona and one of the most eminent of the Veneto region.
Built at the end of the seventeenth century by the will of Juno III Pompeii, Count of Illasi, by the architect F. Pellesina (author of the Villa Sigurtà in Valeggio Sul Mincio, of the church of San Nicolò in Verona and parts of the palace of Versailles). It was the residence of the Pompeii family. So, this extinct, it passed in inheritance to the cousins Count Perez (who added the name Pompeii to his own) and their descendants accounts Sagramoso who still reside there.
In the restaurant, the chef Marcantonio Sagramoso offers a cuisine inspired by the regional tradition, reinterpreted with creativity and refinement. The chef, proud of his family, willingly offers, upon reservation, the opportunity to visit the Villa inside as well as to taste its large park. You can admire the Castello d'Illasi, enjoying it in its beauty from the foot of the hill, perhaps in the summer in front of a good glass of wine signed by Sagramoso.
Considered for a long time as a restaurant hosting only lunches and dinners for special events such as weddings, baptisms or, however, suitable for tastings for the elite, wants to enter the everyday life of everyone as a family place full of hospitality values.
