Hotel Baglio Conca d'Oro History
The Baglio Conca d'Oro is housed in an ancient building founded in 1700 as a paper mill and located between Palermo and Monreale, inside the ancient village of Pietra Molara. Named for the presence of quarries from which the material for the construction of mills was extracted. The "Cartiera Grande" was the largest of three paper mills that once made paper of various types and today, after a scrupulous restoration and renovation that in 1998 brought the whole building back to its former splendor, it hosts the Baglio Conca d'Oro, 4-star hotel where ancient charm and tradition fill the facades and interiors.
Painted ceilings, wooden beams, sophisticated furnishings and warm tones characterize the common areas; the 27 rooms are decorated with precious curtains and coordinated fabrics on shades of pink, ceramic floors, all taken care of with the utmost elegance to make the guests' stay unique and unforgettable. 12 rooms are furnished with 19th century Sicilian furniture, while the other 15 rooms are furnished in a more modern style, maintaining the style that characterizes the whole structure. Add the bar area called "la Saia", the 300-seat "Cartiera" meeting room for banquets and receptions and a further "Regia Trazzera" meeting room with wooden ceiling ideal for dinners and cocktails with a unique atmosphere.
