Not far from the natural reserve of Capo Gallo, stands Villa Bonocore Maletto, historic home of 1700 among the most shining examples of Baroque architecture in Sicily. Surrounded by a large park, it features an outdoor pool and elegant, uniquely furnished rooms as well as a wellness center where you can relax in an atmosphere of refined elegance.
Villa Bonocore Maletto History
Villa Bonocore Maletto is located in the heart of the Piana dei Colli, once a favorite place of the island's aristocracy for the holiday. Considered one of the finest expressions of Sicilian baroque, it now hosts a prestigious 4-star hotel.
Originally owned by the Catalan family, it was bought in the 18th century by Muzio Spadafora and Branciforte, prince of Maletto. Entered by the Bonocore family and in 1927 by the Amari family in 1991 it passed to the Barraja family, the current owners, who brought the villa back to its former glory with a demanding restoration project.
Guests are greeted by an impressive staircase and an entrance portal embellished with stucco and ornaments in Baroque style; the halls with refined architecture open up into large spaces, embellished with period furnishings and floors and ceilings with an original charm of the Baroque period.
The guest rooms, fifteen, overlook the various views of the park: welcoming and comfortable, provide a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, are equipped with TV, minibar and safe, and share the same elegant style of the rest of the building.
The structure has a modern wellness center, obtained in what were once the warehouses, very complete and equipped. It has a sauna, Kneipp path, Turkish bath, tepidarium, emotional showers and icefall. The outdoor pool is equipped with sun beds dedicated to the whirlpool and in five cabins you can be pampered by massage rituals by qualified professionals who will indicate a personalized route to various needs.
The Villa with its large and prestigious rooms lends itself to frame meetings and conferences: five rooms, embellished with period furniture and nineteenth-century decorations can accommodate up to 400 people. Gala dinners, anniversaries, weddings and special events find here the ideal location to be celebrated, among the rich interior decorations and the lush historic garden, where flowers and fragrant essences will frame every event making it unforgettable.
