L'Auberge de L'Abbaye History
The Auberge de l'Abbaye hotel offers six fully renovated double rooms in the ancient Porte de l'Abbaye d'Aulne.
On the ground floor, the Auberge de l'Abbaye tavern offers local products, such as the region's famous cold cuts and cheeses, to be enjoyed on its sunny terrace.
The six rooms have modern comforts, a shower and toilet area, a wireless Internet connection but also and above all a breathtaking view of the ruins of the Aulne Abbey.
Founded in the 7th century, it is one of the oldest Cistercian abbeys in Belgium. Today in ruins, the building has become a real tourist attraction located a few kilometers from Charleroi and its airport. The site of the Aulne Abbey will also delight lovers of hiking, cyclists or lovers of gastronomy.
