Rudolf IV of Hapsburg, called the Magnanimous, was Duke of Austria and of Carinthia and Count of Tyrol. The eldest son of Albert II and Giovanna di Ferrette, who became Duke of Austria and of Carinthia at the death of his father in 1358, bought the county of Tyrol in 1363. He married Catherine of Luxembourg, daughter of Emperor Charles IV and Bianca di Valois , without having any descendants. At his death, the inheritance passed to his brother Alberto III.
