In the heart of the natural park of the "des deux Ourthes" and a short distance from the main tourist centers of the region, stands the Château de Laval, a splendid 17th century manor, welcomes you in a hamlet of five houses immersed in a quiet and relaxing environment surrounded by nature.
Château de Laval History
The first written testimonies on the castle manor of Laval date back to 1385. The building was destroyed in 1410 by Antoine de Bourgogne during his conquest of Luxembourg. A cellar remains from this period, covered with a cross vault. Between 1532 and 1548, the Seigneurie was partially rebuilt by the de Bolland family and the coat of arms carved in stone above the main entrance dates back to this period. In 1650 the castle became part of the possessions of the Gallo de Salamanca family who expanded the structure with two annexes to the west and above all with the farm, on whose pediment the date 1661 appears.
At the end of the nineteenth century the residential part was added, today called "the Tower". In 1917 Henri Vermeersch buys the property on behalf of his sons, who divide it between them and of whom a daughter married an ancestor of the Denis family, current owners of the part where the farmhouses have been set up.
