Chateau Beausaint History
Chateau Beausaint is a charming boutique B&B a stone's throw from La Roche.
The castle has always played an important role in the history of La Roche. The first stone was laid in 1870, when Emile de Halleux and Louise Ryelandt built it as a holiday residence and their heirs occupied the castle until the beginning of this century.
During his long life he also served as the general headquarters of the German army in La Roche during World War II, and also briefly hosted the American army during the Battle of the Ardennes.
The new life of the castle began a few years ago when two Flemish entrepreneurs working in collaboration with the interior designer Geo Flamant, who completed the picture by transforming it into a boutique B&B.
Today the castle offers 10 rooms, each furnished with a king-size bed and a large screen television, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
However, the historical authenticity has not been lost: the dining room with its high ceilings and fireplace brings to life the atmosphere of a 19th century manor.
The refurbishment also took into account every imaginable modern comfort: from home automation to automatic lighting and charging poles for electric vehicles and a charging point for Tesla vehicles.
