Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar Sandoval Hurtado de Mendoza of the Mendoza family, was the seventh Duke of the Infantado, a title he inherited from his grandmother, Anna de Mendoza. Rodrigo, married in 1630, Maria de Silva y Guzmán, daughter of the Duke de Pastrana. He took part in the war fighting with Portugal. Court gentleman of Philip IV, he participated in the war against Catalonia in Lerida in 1646. He was appointed ambassador to Rome, governor of Milan and Viceroy of Sicily. Dead without heirs, the title of the Infantado passed to his sister the Duchess de Pastrana, thus joining the two noble families.
