Walhalla, as it has been called by the inhabitants of Osnabrück for centuries, is not only a member of the Romantik Hotel & Restaurant, but the oldest existing inn in Osnabrück. With 69 rooms and suites, meeting rooms, a small spa area and 3 restaurants, Walhalla is still one of the few private hotels in the city.
Built in the last century in the Bierstraße, in the more than 300 years of its history has evolved from a restaurant, inn with guest rooms, to a hotel with all the comforts where in recent years have been guests of the Dalai Lama, five royal houses and nine state presidents.
Hotel Walhalla History
The hotel "Walhalla" is located in the heart of the old town, not far from the town hall, the Church of S. Maria and the stepped houses that line the market square.
The magnificent half-timbered baroque building was built by Bailiff Gerdt Heindrich Meuschen in 1690 on Bierstraße 24.
The inn was given the name "Walhalla" about 200 years ago, because it was previously called the Ratsschänke. "Valhalla " is in Norse mythology
the meeting place of the glorious warriors and will be synonymous with hospitality in our hotel.
