Le Château De Limont History
In 1220, the knight Robert de Limont received the land of Limont from his father where he built a fortified house.
Several knights and squires of the same family succeeded one another as owners for more than a century. The castle was owned by the Datins of Liège in the second half of the 14th century, then the Brabant family of Limont until the beginning of the 18th century.
Subsequently, Marie-Thérèse de Grumsel, widow of Nicolas d'Othée, acquired the estate. Gilles-Lambert d'Othée, Knight of the Holy Kingdom, Baron de Haneffe, Lord of Limont and former mayor of Liège, then inherits the property.
His descendants will keep it until 1880, when the estate was bought by the Naveau family. More than a century later, in 1992, a complete renovation of the castle was begun to guarantee a hotel of great charm.
The Château hotel offers 22 spacious and welcoming rooms that blend perfectly with the sober charm of the castle. Equipped with every modern comfort, comfortable, with a view of the wooded park and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
