The Santer family welcomes guests in the characteristic medieval Ansitz Helmsdorf estate, a perfect place to spend pleasant mountain holidays in contact with nature and close to the cultural city of Merano.
Ansitz Helmsdorf History
Originally built as a medieval residential castle, the estate near Lana not only offers a fantastic view of the Val d'Adige, but also a very special environment. Where once noble knights and bridesmaids lived, today in two holiday apartments you can spend your holiday within the thick walls of the castle, with creaking wooden floors and ornate solid wood furniture, without sacrificing modern comforts. It is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity that gives the estate its special charm and offers a unique setting for your farm holidays in Lana.
Crunching stairs, thick exterior walls and creaky wooden doors give the apartments a special charm. Rooms over three meters high, which thanks to the characteristic wooden ceiling exude a medieval atmosphere with high quality kitchen, modern bathrooms, a cozy living room with sofa bed and a separate bedroom. The organic farm of the estate offers genuine products of the highest quality, and in autumn, when the apples are harvested and transformed into fruit juices, liqueurs and desserts, on our estate near Merano you can experience the tradition of "Törggelen" in South Tyrol.
Throughout the year the Helmsdorf estate is perfect as a starting point for cycling and beautiful walks in the Val d'Adige scenery, while between November and April over 40 km of slopes await enthusiasts in the nearby Merano 2000 ski area to ensure holiday shows in the snow.
