The St. Gerlach property is located in the Geul valley, within the Ingendael reserve. The immense park, the vineyard, the herb garden, the vegetable garden, the rose garden and the church decorated with splendid 18th century frescoes make up an enchanted frame around the castle built on a 15th century monastery which welcomed pilgrims who arrived to pay homage to the hermit Gerlach de Houthem. The rooms, housed in the ancient masseria, offer magnificent views of the Baroque gardens. The restaurant, in an authentic aristocratic atmosphere, serves French cuisine, while the Bistrot de Liège offers the best regional specialties in a more informal setting.
Chateau St. Gerlach History
Situated on the edge of the Ingendael nature reserve, just minutes from the center of Maastricht, the magnificent Château St. Gerlach has been lovingly restored to offer an exceptional and luxurious experience. The complex with its historic buildings, the original estate farm, convent and granaries, have been converted to house 113 rooms, two renowned restaurants and a spa. The St. Gerlach Pavilion & Manor Farm has added a traditional coffee shop and a state-of-the-art meeting room that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
The two restaurants of the Château St. Gerlach use organic ingredients from the land cultivated directly on the estate to offer gastronomic experiences of excellence. In the gastro-pub setting of the Bistrot de Liège, regional culinary specialties are served in an informal atmosphere.
Featuring opulent design and modern technology, Château St. Gerlach's 15 event spaces can accommodate any event, from a few attendees in business meetings in complete privacy to congresses of up to 1,000 delegates. During the summer months, tables can be set up on the lawns and terraces of the hotel's large park.
