The castle and the palace are located in a lush park whose old trees are reflected by two ponds. The buildings house the centre for the history of wood and play, the trimming workshop, the performance workshop for the production of herbal liqueurs and the collection "landscape paintings from the Ore Mountains". Cultural events, concerts, weddings and other events take place frequently in the knight’s room.
The wine cellar invites you to the historical gastronomy. Inside the building there is also a restaurant and a café with a panoramic terrace.
Förderverein Schloss Schlettau e.V. History
Not far from the metropolis of the Ore Mountains of Annaberg-Buchholz, in the heart of the quiet country town of Schlettau, lies a true gem, dating back to the 14th century.
The historical complex includes, in addition to the medieval castle, the manor of the seventeenth century and some farm buildings.
In its long and extremely eventful history, the walls were used in very different ways, from the noble residence to the factory warehouse.
In the picturesque exterior of the monumental complex harmoniously combine style elements from different architectural eras (Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neo-Gothic).
Castle and manor house are set in a picturesque way in a small romantic park that dates back to the mid-1800s on the model of English landscaped gardens that encloses in a small space more than 30 species of trees.
