A few kilometers from Perugia, in the part of the Alta Valle del Tevere, stands "Le Torri di Bagnara". A medieval country resort that offers exclusive holiday stays. It is a complex of elegant historic houses in the middle of a magnificent estate surrounded by 600 hectares of hills and plains, lakes and streams, woods and olive groves.
Le Torri di Bagnara History
Torre di Bagnara is an ancient watchtower dating back to the Xl century, built to defend the church and the castle of Pieve San Quirico. Located about three hundred meters above sea level, it dominates the Tiber valley, rich in expanses of meadows and pastures interrupted by oak woods, until you see the Mount Subasio on the horizon where St. Francis withdrew in prayer and the Umbrian-Marche Apennines.
The tower looks like a thousand years ago, with massive stone walls and, in the upper part, small loopholes. The rooms overlook the rooms of the three apartments made available, The rooms have tiled floors and wooden beams and are furnished with classic taste suited to the style of the house, which in some parts still shows centuries-old portals and barrel vaults in stone. In the garden of this "old-time residence", there is a beautiful panoramic infinity pool equipped with solarium. But the receptive activity is not the only one managed by Mrs. Adele Tremi, the owner: the tower is the fulcrum of an agro-zootechnical company inserted in a vast hunting reserve, focused on the breeding of Chianina cows, roe deer and hares.
Being a short distance from the main tourist centers of Umbria: Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Città di Castello, Todi, Spoleto. Torre di Bagnara is an ideal starting point for interesting historical-artistic and naturalistic excursions, as well as tasty stops in the numerous trattorias and restaurants in the area, known for their excellent culinary and wine-making tradition.
