Parkhotel Sole Paradiso

For over a hundred years, the many travelers heading for the Monte Croce Pass passing through San Candido, a center for the care of the Dolomites, feel a love at first sight when they are in front of the "Sole Paradiso" hotel. This building, located right in the heart of the Alpine frame of the Val Pusteria was erected at the end of the nineteenth century by Franz Ortner, great-grandfather of the current owners.

In the beginning having the function of agricultural farm, once planned the tourist development of the valley thanks to the arrival of the new railway Vienna - San Candido - Merano, Ortner transformed the complex calling it "Albergo al Sole" (Gasthof zur Sonne).

In the hotel's golden book it is possible to find the testimonies of the assiduous stays of the Marshal of Italy Pietro Badoglio and of Alcide De Gasperi, who called it a "paradise of peace": since then nothing has changed regarding the tranquility of this structure .

 Nowadays it has been transformed into a four-star hotel, where in every room, each with its own peculiarities, modern comforts are combined with the historical characteristics of the environment.

The Ortner family, being able to boast of the experience of four generations, is always ready to offer the same care and love for hospitality that characterizes the hotel since its foundation, working constantly to improve the services given to guests and personally taking care the furnishing of the rooms.

The cuisine of the hotel, reign of chef Auer Markus, is distinguished by its wealth of imagination and attention to the gastronomic tradition, together with the use of high quality and fresh products and a cellar with the finest wines of the Region .

San Candido remains, today as yesterday, the ideal base both for the guest looking for an oasis of relaxation and for the mountain lover who loves the Sesto Dolomites and the Ampezzane Dolomites who want to reach all the favorite peaks in a short time.
