The Tenuta Ormanni is located in the Chianti area of Poggibonsi, where from its vineyards it produces wines of particular value. From two old houses have been obtained apartments with a warm atmosphere, where the style and decor are typically Tuscan.
Tenuta Ormanni History
The Ormanni Estate of Poggibonsi, belonging to the Ing. Paolo Brini Batacchi, is located precisely in the locality of Ormanni, as the family owning the farm in 1200 mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy. It then passed to the Scarlatti family and then to the de 'Medici family, as still evidenced by their coat of arms on the entrance door of the Villa.
Next to the villa stands a small village and the careful restructuring of two farmhouses has been created the farm of the Tenuta Ormanni. The houses are surrounded by cypress woods, vineyards and olive groves, in a quiet position where you can enjoy a fantastic view. In the Podere Le Querce 3 apartments have been created, where between ancient wooden arches and ceilings with wooden beams we find comfortable rooms, furnished with typical Tuscan style furniture. In front of the house, in the garden, the pool where guests of each apartment can enjoy a large private space, while in the back of the house a brick barbecue, a loggia and parking.
Podere Montignano has been divided into 5 apartments, also with terracotta floors, exposed wooden beams and traditional Tuscan furnishings. Each apartment has a fireplace, while outside in the garden surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, guests have at their disposal an equipped space.
The heart of the farm is the winery, divided into 4 environments according to the processing: steel, barrels and barriques, glass blocking, bottling and labeling of the bottles. Among the wines it deserves to be mentioned the label Borro del diavolo, a Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG which for years has received the highest score in the Italian Sommelier Association guide.
