Torre di San Martino History
In the medieval village of Rivalta, dating back to the eleventh century, which thanks to skilful and targeted restoration is one of the best preserved villages in Italy, we find a special residence for the hospitality of couples, families and businessmen: Torre San Martino. This fairy-tale residence, among the evocative walls of the castle, has 12 rooms. Each room is a page of history and furnished with care and attention to detail, maintaining a magical atmosphere thanks to the four-poster beds, wooden ceilings, drapes and precious velvets and authentic period furniture, combining everything with modern comforts.
Inside the village of Rivalta visitors can find, in addition to the magnificent Castle, the restaurant "La Rocchetta" with its international menu and fish dishes, "the Antica Locanda del Falco" to enjoy the typical cuisine of the area, the "Le 5 Lanterne" hot bar for ice cream parlors and cafeterias, the "Bottega Re di Coppe" where you can buy and taste local salami and excellent wine, and finally the "Wax Museum of Piacenza", where through high quality reconstructions it is possible retrace the history of the region.
The territory on which Residenza Torre San Martino stands and the Borgo di Rivalta is full of landscapes to explore, museums, evocative places and food to discover and taste. Val Trebbia lends itself perfectly to naturalistic itineraries and walks, as well as historical and artistic testimonies in the surrounding territories, starting from Bobbio and the ancient Abbey of San Colombano, flanked by the Museum.
