Maria Giulia and Giovannella Fugazza are two Women of Wine ", they belong, that is, to the Italian association of producers, wine-makers, restaurateurs, sommeliers and journalists who promote the culture of wine. Owners of the castle of Luzzano, located at the top of a hill 270 meters high on the border between Lombardy and Emilia, are at the head of a thriving farm, covering 120 hectares, of which 75 are vineyards.
Luzzano is a small village nestled around the beautiful neoclassical church, in which survive a handful of seventeenth-century rural houses and a castle of ancient origins, dating back to Roman times, most likely in the first century AD. The castle opens to the public some rooms that house a small museum of historical artifacts and the winery, where wine tastings are held.
There are two possibilities for accommodation: in the old rural houses at the entrance of the property four lovely little apartments have been created, while in the eighteenth-century building of the Customs, a few meters away, there are four bedrooms. For both structures, restorations and furnishings were handcrafted, using only wood from the company's trees. Each house has its essence: elm, cedar of Lebanon, yew, cypress and cherry, the colors of the plaster are blue, red, pink and yellow, which give life to a colorful bouquet of unusual and gaudy colors .
In the Antica Dogana inn there are also the three dining rooms of the restaurant, renowned for its local cuisine that, during the summer, welcomes guests on the veranda, open to the view of the vineyards.
