Zamek Dubiecko History
Dubiecko Castle dates back to the 16th century, built by the Krasicki family. Over time the building lost its fortified structures and was renovated in the Classicist style. This is when a landscape garden was created, placing it today among the most impressive structures of its kind in Poland. Its design took advantage of the natural terrain and incorporated ancient oaks and limes, as well as newly added specimens of exotic trees and shrubs.
Dubiecko is also known as the birthplace of two famous men: Stanisław Stadnicki-one of the greatest troublemakers in Polish history, often referred to as the Devil of Łańcut, and Ignacy Krasicki-one of the greatest representatives of the Enlightenment in Poland, also known as "the prince of poets." Today Dubiecko Castle houses a hotel and restaurant, known for its excellent cuisine.
