Corte Bracco dei Germani History
Corte Bracco dei Germani has made its mark of Mediterraneanity. For years it has been home to national and international events on "made in Italy" cuisine and has the pride of being a point of reference in our country for the Old-ways, the American association promoting the world of Mediterranean diet.
The basic ingredient of all the dishes presented here is the extra virgin olive oil obtained from secular olive trees attached to the court, owned by the Sbisà family. The four brothers who lead the business are descendants of those Grilli-Sbisà who in 1830 bought this impressive complex, transforming it from a monastery into a private residence. Founded in the seventeenth century by the observing minor friars, the building has slowly seen to approach the sober and chaste furnishings of the religious, furniture and collector's items. Today, therefore, it presents itself with the original architectural structures, such as the thick walls, the large cross vaults, the cellars and the sub-cavities in living stone and local limestone, but with antique furniture, Aubusson tapestries, ancient ceramics and details of particular refinement.
The atmosphere is therefore that of a noble country residence that alternates with tastefully rustic tones to the most elegant, enhanced by a soft lighting. All rooms overlook the courtyard, a lush oasis of palm trees, flowers and paths that unfold in a large park. From here it is accessed via a stone staircase to the area; in the case of weddings or conventions, the accommodations are granted as a support to guests.
