Tenuta Montedoro is a farm with centuries-old traditions that has recently become part of the Apulia agritourisms. Surrounded by the green of centuries-old olive groves, orange groves and vineyards, today the estate produces fruit, vegetables and an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
The Scuderie di Montedoro, adjacent to the 18th century Manor House, have been expertly renovated to make them the ideal place for any event.
Tenuta Montedoro History
On the coast of the Ionian Sea, there is the eighteenth-century building of the Montedoro estate. gift of Maria Isabella of Bourbon, Queen of the Two Sicilies, to the ancestors of the current owners, the manor house has kept intact over time the original structure and the magical atmosphere of the past; immersed in a verdant Mediterranean garden in the center of which there is a swimming pool reserved for guests, the house is surrounded by ancient walls that guarantee guests total privacy.
The estate, still owned by the same family, was known in the past for the intensive cultivation of tobacco, today it mainly produces wine grapes, citrus fruits and olives from which an excellent extra virgin olive oil is produced.
Located in an elevated position, and therefore beautiful visible from below, the estate takes its name from the color taken on by the earth during the summer when the full ripening of the ears of wheat under the scorching sun shines similar to pure gold. The echoes of the past, between history and legend, hover over the estate even now making it a magical and unique place.
Once used to house workers during the tobacco season, today the "Casette sul Viale" offer the opportunity to stay at Tenuta Montedoro, enjoying the rhythms of the countryside.
Perfect for families or groups of friends, the structures accommodate 4 and 6 people and are equipped with equipped kitchen, TV, Wi-fi and large outdoor spaces. The bedrooms, furnished with simple elegance, are spacious and airy with ceiling blades.
