The Masseria Cantone complex, dating back to the 18th century, is located in the middle of an expanse of olive and oak trees in the heart of the Valle d'Itria. The beautiful rooms, which can accommodate up to 250 guests in case of ceremonies and events, still preserve the ancient furnishings and the simple elegance of the past. Masseria Cantone History
In the middle of the countryside of Ostuni, about fifteen kilometers from the town, is the Masseria Cantone, built at the end of the eighteenth century, with its façade made of stone and pink plaster standing out on a stretch of dense Mediterranean scrub.
Crossing the threshold, one has the feeling of entering the library or the living room of a private house, but with the difference that here every space is literally "invaded" by the tables set for guests, so that they sit between armchairs, sideboards and furnishings of various kinds. The atmosphere is therefore relaxed, saloon and often enlivened by the music played at the grand piano in one of the rooms, as in the case of the many jazz events hosted in the complex or perhaps thanks to the initiative of some defendant. Large stone fireplaces, cross vaults in stone, large amphorae, wicker baskets and old country tools hanging on the walls create pleasantly rustic and warm environments.
The gastronomy then reflects the same ambitious peculiarity of the place. The menu varies according to the season and, in particular, offers local specialties and game bred with semi-natural techniques at the farm owned. Hares, partridges, pheasants, but also rarer royal germans and give birth to dishes worthy of a lavish feast, in which good wine from Puglia never fails. In summer and, in general, weather permitting, you can decide to eat on the terrace, shaded by a gazebo. Near the farm, in a villa of the early twentieth century totally immersed in a forest and equipped with swimming pool, there are five mini-apartments with kitchenette, also furnished with antiques.
