Giardino di Zoppola History
Oral tradition has it that the birth of the park was due to an ancestor of the current owners, Francesco Panciera di Zoppola, who graduated in medicine at the end of the nineteenth century, went to specialize at the famous Berlin school. Here he gravitated to the Prussian court and visiting the imperial seats he fell in love with the garden of one of these so much that he wanted to reproduce it in miniature in Friuli.
Graciously arranged according to a romantic criterion, with a bridge that crosses a small stream, it consists of a turf on which numerous local species have been planted or particularly widespread in the area such as badgers, firs, cedars of Lebanon and swamp cypresses .
Until thirty years ago flower beds and paths stood out on the lawn, while a more natural conformation has now been preferred.
