A magnificent building with a large garden and park that turns into an ideal location for ceremonies, weddings, receptions and private parties, exhibitions and exhibitions, conferences and workshops, events, aperitifs and tastings. The Castle can host events both inside the ancient rooms painted and frescoed and in the vast garden surrounded by the historic battlements.
Castelcosa History
Of the castle of Cosa of which there are traces since the year one thousand, located a few kilometers from the town of Spilimbergo, renowned world center of the mosaic; its function was, most likely, that of watching the land in front of the river Tagliamento, where, at the time, there was a landing place for boats in order to unload goods that were almost certainly stored in the manor.
Over the following centuries, it has changed ownership numerous times. During the First World War, it became a garrison headquarters and was heavily bombed by the Austrian artillery during the retreat to the Piave. Since 1978 CastelCosa has become the property of the Furlan who, in the same year, have established a winery here. The winery was created keeping in mind the need to preserve the ancient structure of the building and, as the castle is subject to the constraints of the fine arts, every intervention is done with the utmost attention and respect as the history has given.
Inside we find a winery for vinification with stainless steel tanks and adjacent to a room for bottling with cutting-edge equipment and continuously updated.
Inside the "Vin Mondo" Wine History Museum testifies the historical period that goes from the discovery of the wine to the present day. rereading the cultural evolution of man over the centuries, taking the wine and its surroundings as a pretext, with machines and ancient tools to frame.
Today, in addition to the production of wines, the splendid building with its Venetian terrazzo floors, large frescoes and spacious and elegant halls, is used for exhibitions, concerts, conferences and weddings.
