Hotel Villa Luppis History
Next to the border between Veneto and Friuli, Villa Luppis stands in the middle of a five-hectare park embellished with fountains, statues and a romantic pond. Its roots lie in remote eras: Benedictine monastery of the year 1000, known as San Martino Ripae Ruptae, expanded in the thirteenth century by the Camaldolese monks, was secularized by Napoleon in the early nineteenth century and bought by the Chiozza-Luppis family, who transformed into a splendid country residence and made it a center of social life, the heart of its industrial and diplomatic activities. And as such it has been passed down from generation to generation until it reaches the possession of the current owners, who have instead destined for a high-level welcome, but with the charm and warmth of a convivial hospitality.
Every room has been studied in detail to try to keep intact the original structures and the atmosphere of a patrician residence. Among the arches of fourteenth-century walls, the hall opens, with antiques and two austere wooden shutters from the sixteenth century. The hotel consists of rooms and suites sought after in furniture: the Rosa suite, for example, has Louis XVI furniture, an antique mirror and a French wall fresco. Continuing the visit of Villa Luppis, you enter an elegant piano bar with a monumental ancient fireplace, from here in a living room with coffered ceiling, in the spacious dining rooms, among art objects and delicate frescoes on the walls, and finally in the graceful chapel of the villa, available for private ceremonies, with a very fine stained ceiling with all-round effigies of family ancestors. Among the proposed activities, cooking classes held by great chefs and wine tasting with expert sommeliers stand out.
A salon capable of accommodating 180 guests is available for congresses, meetings, banquets and events of all kinds, equipped with all the technological tools necessary for a functional development of the events, guarantees a frame of sure effect.
