An ancient Venetian villa immersed in the green countryside of Treviso, a corner of paradise, surrounded by water and vineyards. Villa Onesti designed by Baldassare Longhena opens to the public to offer walks accompanied by a glass of wine produced by the Fioravanti Onesti family or tastings of a Prosecco D.O.C Millesimato, a still wine or a Rosè comfortably seated on the terrace of the store.
Fioravanti Onesti History
The estates on which Fioravanti Onesti wine is still grown have an ancient past, the subject of historical and architectural studies.
Since 1680, in fact, various documents speak of "Villa da Lezze" designed by the most famous architect of the time, the Venetian Baldassarre Longhena, already well known for having built important buildings such as the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute and Cà Rezzonico to Venice.
A long silence then descends on the history of the villa to hide a fire or its demolition, perhaps for not having to pay taxes to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Of the remains of the grandiose palace only a tower remained standing, some barchesse then used as cane and limonere, where the manor house was subsequently moved.
The Fioravanti Onesti farm was born in the early nineteenth century, when the Baron Francesco Onesti from Padua, ancestor of the current owners, bought the property located in Rovarè di San Biagio di Callalta, which previously belonged to the Da Lezze nobles.
The happy position of the land led him to transform the property into a flourishing estate in step with the times.
The heirs, all great agricultural enthusiasts, lavished money and innovations "to make fertile and fertile lands that were previously sterile and infertile".
Of fundamental importance was the breakthrough carried out, in the early 70s of the last century, by Baron Francesco Fioravanti Onesti, in the modernization of the company from a technical and agronomic point of view which allowed to continue producing the excellent grapes that characterize it .
Today the estate, mainly wine-growing, is managed with passion and great commitment by Alvise Fioravanti Onesti who continues the family tradition with respect for nature and the final product, while expanding the production and opening the sale to the public.
