Relais Villa Fiorita

Built between 1680 and 1710 by the noble Bragadin family, one of the 24 patrician families that made up Venice, changed various owners during the 19th century; in 1893 it was bought by Count Giovanni Ninni, a Venetian nobleman originally from Thessaloniki, whose family had already owned the nearby monastery of the Madonna del Pero and other surrounding plots so as to create one of the largest estates in the area.

During the First World War the villa was abandoned and used as a command center by military troops and the American Red Cross. In 1918 the sequel to the "American Red Cross" arrived the young officer Ernest Hemingway, who remained seriously on the night of July 8, risking death. Those intense and tragic days were inspired by the famous writer for two masterpieces such as "Beyond the river, under the trees" and "Farewell to arms"; A rich exhibition, now set up in the rooms of the villa, tells the story in detail.

In 1932 the doctor conducted dr. Guido Prosdocimo obtained the villa for rent from the Counts Ninni transforming it into a clinic. In 1970 Dr. Antonio Calvani, founder of the Sogedin group, is the new owner of the villa where he had started practicing as a surgeon in his youth. Under his guidance, the nursing home was moved to a new structure in 1972, while the villa, after a careful renovation, became a luxury hotel, a tornado of the original vocation of a place of relaxation and vacation.

Large and elegant rooms, haute cuisine and evocative atmospheres, are the elements enclosed within the walls of Villa Fiorita: the restaurant, led by Chef Emanuele Rizzoli, expresses the excellence of the territory, blending Venetian culture, with dishes based on fish, with the Treviso area, where seasonal first fruits such as red radicchio, mushrooms and meat with strong flavors like duck or goose find space. The Restaurant has 6 rooms, of different sizes and styles, suitable to host events of all kinds, from corporate dinner, to wedding, as well as an intimate evening, with the staff of Villa Fiorita ready to customize each event.
