Hotel Villa Ducale

Hotel Villa Ducale is an aristocratic nineteenth century villa converted into a hotel since 1993. The rooms are furnished in traditional Sicilian style with antique furniture, terracotta floors, Sicilian damask, wrought iron beds and refined bathrooms with Caltagirone ceramics. They all enjoy an exciting view on one side of the crystalline sea, on the other on Mount Etna and have walls decorated with frescoes by the Sicilian naïf painter Tino Giammona.
Arranged on a series of terraces sloping down towards the sea, the villa reveals its best corners in the continuous ups and downs of staircases adorned with Sicilian majolica, exotic plants, cascades of fragrant flowers, that surround the landscape, dominated by Etna, in a frame of bright colors.
On the largest terrace, under the shade of a fresh pergola, you can enjoy breakfast until late morning and, on request, tasty snacks based on typical products of the island, which make up for the lack of a restaurant. At guests' disposal also the ancient family library, a bar, some comfortable lounges and an outdoor swimming pool.
It is certainly not a coincidence that the most usual guests in this hotel are especially honeymoon couples and famous people looking for tranquility. And all, at the end of their stay, have the same feeling: to have been guests at the home of friends, not customers of a hotel.
