The Monaci delle Terre Nere estate is located in Zafferana Etnea in the province of Catania on the slopes of Mount Etna. A noble residence dating back to the 1800s, today it is an Eco-Bio farmhouse, furnished like a Boutique Hotel, with a restaurant serving organic cuisine overlooking a panoramic terrace overlooking the Mediterranean.

Monaci delle Terre Nere is an idyllic relais located at the foot of Mount Etna, among numerous picturesque villages and surrounded by a park where you can admire many species of trees and plants. The tranquility and relaxation are guaranteed by the charm of its structure, from its garden of 16 hectares of citrus groves, vegetables, spices, vineyards and olive trees that alternate dense forests and stretches of lava desert.
A careful restoration has brought this ancient noble home of the 800 to the splendours of the past: the Monaci delle Terre Nere is in fact a splendid example of traditional Sicilian architecture, which with sweet contrasts integrates with contemporary art and design. For the restoration of the structure the principles of Bio-architecture have been used and a part of the energy is recovered from renewable energy sources, respecting the splendid naturalistic context that surrounds it.
The Relais has only 15 rooms and suites, each one different from the other, where they relive the same spaces and atmospheres of the 19th century. The lights, details and warm colors echo the Sicilian culture and are the setting for modern comforts. The Classic, Superior and Delux rooms have a floor space between 22 and 30 square meters and a magnificent view of the garden with the blue sea in the distance. The Depandance Suites offer three different types of housing: a loft, one in the ancient Palmento and one with two separate rooms. Two other suites, measuring 55 and 60 square meters, are located in a modern building surrounded by greenery. The Deluxe Depandance Suites, the Sumptuous and the Complex, are located at 300 m from the main building and have respectively 50 and 65 sqm.
Organic farming is the element around which the Monaci delle Terre Nere restaurant revolves: overlooking a panoramic terrace, it offers traditional Sicilian cuisine and vegetarian menus made with local products, accompanied by a wide choice of wines.
Guests can take a tour of the farm, participate and assist in the agricultural work and discover the fruits of this wonderful land with tastings of wines and typical products.
