Landgoed Brakkesteyn History
On the edge of Nijmegen's city center lies Landgoed Brakkesteyn. A country estate with a rich history where you will find an atmospheric and extraordinary place to gather with a group. The locations of the country estate are situated in a green, spacious and impressive environment. The impressive driveway, monumental buildings and rural surroundings provide a special setting for any gathering where ancient and modern blend seamlessly.
The estate dates back to 1654 and over the course of its rich past has had various uses and has been expanded several times. Brakkesteyn originated as a reclamation farm, after which not much later it served as a summer residence, and later as a place of residence, for the wealthy citizens of Nijmegen. In 1865 the country house as we know it today was built. The shed dates back to 1916 and was built as a stable by Victor Jurgens, a true horse lover. Both the manor house and carriage house are still almost in their original state.
At the Brakkesteyn Estate, there is a room to suit every occasion, both indoor and outdoor options and being able to accommodate groups from 10 up to 1,000 people. Both the country house and the carriage house have rooms available for rent.
