Le Logge di Silvignano History
Le Logge di Silvignano is a historic residence located in Spoleto, built in a dominant position on Mount Poreta. Built in the twelfth century, the ancient village was surrounded by defensive walls in the mid-fourteenth century and became the site of a military garrison in defense of the valley becoming part of the defense system of the lands of Contado di Spoleto together with the Castle of Campello and dell'Acera. The residence is one of the most significant examples of medieval architecture in the region, with a splendid fifteenth-century loggia with octagonal arches and octagonal poles to decorate its façade. The ancient spirit of the ancient residence, also kept in a votive shrine with frescoes of the '400, combines the atmosphere and the elegant beauty of the past with the comforts and services of modern dynamics that fit into an environment where the restoration has preserved every original feature.
The furniture is partly from the period and partly from local crafts; the linen and fabrics that decorate the rooms come from the ancient frames of Montefalco, the art ceramics from the laboratories of Deruta and Torgiano, all mixed with paintings and family objects. The suites and lofts, all different from each other, boast terracotta floors, exposed wooden beams, exposed brick vaults, some with old fireplaces, others with terraces and private gardens.
The magnificent swimming pool located in the Garden of Olives and Oaks offers a panoramic view of the Umbrian Valley and is equipped with sun loungers, deck chairs and umbrellas, ensuring moments of pure idleness surrounded by an idyllic setting.
The hosts Diana and Alberto will offer guests a warm and friendly welcome, knowing how to suggest itineraries and curiosities about the wonderful Umbrian surroundings, rich in history and art cities like the nearby Assisi, small villages and charming castles to discover and admire, or organizing "theme" holidays according to personal desires, with cooking, decoration and other courses.
