Villa Ca'Orologio is located in Baone, a municipality that stands on the southern slopes of the Euganean Hills and whose name derives from the festivals in honor of Bacchus that took place in pre-Roman times. The origins of Baone located just three kilometers from the ancient Este, are documented by the archaeological material found after the excavations carried out in the nineteenth century that have brought to light evidence of populations lived around the eighth century BC.
Villa Ca' Orologio History
The first evidence that documents the construction of Villa Ca 'Orologio dates back to 1546. The Villa was built as a country residence by the family of the Marquises Dondi Dall'Orologio and only later, in the year of Jubilee 1675, Fra' Girolamo, descendent of 'homonymous family, a Professed Knight of the Order of Malta, he founded the Oratory of the Blessed Virgin of the Assumption and with his brothers he used it for his pious offices.
In the complex entirely renovated the Villa you can stay in beautiful rooms or apartments created in the old barn, all rooms with charm and elegance without missing modern comforts.
The barchessa annexed to the Villa, the Agriturismo Brolo di Ca 'Orologio, is an excellent starting point for various itineraries to the cities of Veneto and for excursions into the surrounding nature.
The company produces quality grapes at low yields from highly suited soils. Since 1999, the conversion of all land has been started to organic farming. The production, entirely sold until 2001 to local producers for the production of quality DOC wines, of the 2002 harvest was vinified on its own for the first time. Oil olives are also produced (then brought to the mill), from old plants recovered after years of neglect.
