Villa Palazzo Aminta History

On Lake Maggiore, in a happy dominant position the Borromeo Islands, in the millennial village of Stresa, stands the splendid jewel of the Hotel Villa Aminta. It was the Admiral of the Italian Royal Navy, Francesco Capace, Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy, to call the Villa as his beloved wife Aminta after having bought it in 1918. At that time the complex had only seven rooms and a bathroom, but immediately began to attract representatives of the European Bella Epoque, attracted by the enchanted atmosphere of the lake and the picturesque views offered by Villa Aminta that saw artists such as Paolo Troubetzkoy, George Bernard Shaw and in more recent years Liz Taylor and Richard Burton who came here in 1966 for one of their innumerable leaks of love.

Today Villa Aminta is a 5-star luxury hotel where elegance is breathed in refined compositions of furnishings and architectural elements, in an atmosphere rich in history, in which every detail is the result of the reinterpretation of the concept of a family villa of the beginning of the century: antique furniture, stuccos, chandeliers, tapestries and fine fabrics, arabesques and oriental scrolls embellish the rooms, bringing the building back to its original splendor and creating a fairytale charm with a restructuring that is also attentive to modern technological standards.

Palazzo Aminta Beauty & Spa is the refuge to regenerate, a temple dedicated to the well-being of the hotel, where a team of doctors, physiotherapists, masseurs, beauticians and personal trainers are at guests' disposal for anti-stress treatments, moisturizing and revitalizing face and body treatments. personalized routes. There is also a fully equipped fitness area with Technogym materials where you can keep fit between decorations and inlays. Outside the places dedicated to relaxation continue with the swimming pool, the solarium and the private beach where you can spend pleasant moments under the sun or practicing water sports.

The Hotel has two restaurants "il Calamandino" and "Le Isole". The first, new in 2014, is open all day offering crudités, fresh raw materials and show coking in an informal environment where you can also relax in a bathrobe. The Islands with its refined rooms decorated with stuccos and friezes, is ideal for unforgettable candlelit dinners tasting the typical regional and Italian dishes, accompanied by the excellent selection of wines.

With its multiple environments and the beautiful setting in which it is immersed, Villa Aminta is the ideal location to host special events such as wedding receptions, meetings, conferences and cocktails evenings with a unique atmosphere.
