Grotta Giusti Resort Golf & Spa History
A few kilometers from Monsummano Terme, immersed in a green private park that provides guests with the relaxation and mass confidentiality they need, stands a nineteenth-century villa hosting the Hotel Grotta Giusti Resort. The hotel has 58 double rooms and 6 suites, each of them with unique characteristics to satisfy everyone's needs and tastes. All have Carrara marble finishes, LCD televisions with satellite channels, fine tapestries, minibar and internet access. The elegant interior spaces are characterized by frescoed walls and antique furniture that create a particularly refined atmosphere, the same that you can find in the tranquility of your room.
La Veranda restaurant, inside the Hotel, offers a menu based on the typical flavors of the area, with the typical flavors of Tuscany enhanced by fresh products from the countryside and local farms. In summer lunch is served outdoors, on the terrace of "La Pergola" and often candlelit evenings, typical dinners and gastronomic events are organized.
The hotel is the main attraction of the spa, a reference point for all of Monsummano Terme, with its 750 sqm thermal pool, with water jets, waterfalls, whirlpools and a cave with steam baths. Its discovery and birth is due to the cav. Domenico Giusti, former administrator of the Regie Terme di Montecatini since 1818, who commits himself between 1852 and 1854 in a first organization of the receptive spaces: to a first realization of a "factory" composed of entrance hall and four small rooms to lukewarm use, since the 60s the plant has expanded through the construction of a loggia and terrace, as it is today. The popularity of the establishment and of the hotel structure soon crossed national boundaries, attracting illustrious stays such as those of Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1867 and Giuseppe Verdi, who defined it as "the eighth wonder of the world".
Awarded the 2015 "Best Spa with World Thermal Cave" at the World Spa Awards, the spa offers access to the gym, thermal pool and initial medical advice with continuous assistance, as well as a wide range of treatments including Oriental ones.
Sport-loving guests can also indulge in golf by taking advantage of reduced entrances at the Golf Club, located just 3 km from the hotel, where both experts and novices will find routes and personalized lessons at their level.
