Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa History

The Baths of Pisa Palace & Spa is a real spa gem, inserted in the frame between Lucca, Pisa, the Maritime Park San Rossore and the worldliness of Versilia, in a plain rich in natural and artistic beauties.

Already in ancient times these baths were loved by Etruscans and Romans, but since the eighteenth century, after having become the thermal residence of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Francesco Stefano di Lorena, their popularity spread throughout Europe, maintaining the status over the years a worldly meeting place for illustrious personalities such as de George IV of England, Carlo Goldoni, Vittorio Alfieri, Percy Bysshe and Mary Shelley.

With a skilful restoration work we wanted to bring back to the ancient splendor this historic home, risen from the ashes like a phoenix to offer hospitality in a suggestive meeting between elegance and modernity.

The ancient Villa dei Lorena houses 61 rooms, including 11 Junior Suites and 9 Suites. Each of them is equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and safe, with original 1700s frescoed with warm tones and pastel colors, marble and terracotta floors, mezzanines floors and views of the exceptional Tuscan landscape, with a view free to wander up to the Tower of Pisa, symbol of the city.

The beautiful spa complex offers a range of treatments, including wellness treatments, massages, beauty treatments, vitalizing and sensory, as well as access to the outdoor and indoor thermal pool, the Swedish sauna and the fitness center.

On the top floor of the complex is the restaurant "Dei Lorena", where there are menus for all needs, from the low-calorie and diet menus that vegetarian guests will certainly love, to Tuscan specialties, with the old recipes handed down for centuries. Taste, lightness, creativity and great attention to the presentations are the business card of the chef Umberto Toscano, always ready to offer with his staff an unforgettable sensorial experience.

Located just 10 minutes from the international airport of Pisa, Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa offers magnificent meeting spaces full of history and charm: a Plenary Hall with a capacity of 120 seats, obtained from the ancient Teatrino dei Granduchi with elegant friezes and Carrara marble; for smaller events the Byron Room with its 15 seats and the 80-seat Game Room. Finally, for a special setting, the Shelley Room, created from the ancient Salone delle Feste, where the original 1700 frescoes will amaze every guest. A perfect setting to host a dream wedding ceremony, with an expert and attentive staff ready to follow every single detail, from the hairstyle to floral decorations, from music to make-up, to celebrate the most special day in the best way .
