Villa Dragonetti de Torres History
In the early nineties, the Barattelli family bought Villa Dragonetti de Torres, thus becoming the custodian of an important piece of Abruzzese history. This eighteenth-century residence was in fact centuries ago a cenacle of artists and writers and meeting place of numerous political figures that gravitated around the family, however not without prominent names: an ancestor had been godfather of Torquato Tasso, while Luigi Dragonetti, patriot and politician, he was elected senator to the Italian Parliament in 1861. But it is to Giacinto Dragonetti that he owes much of the pictorial decorations that cover the walls of the villa and the neoclassical works, as the addition of marble busts of the Roman era present in the gallery of the ground floor and the frescoes of the two dining rooms, inspired by the depictions of ancient Pompeii.
Even the bedrooms, located on the second floor, retain valuable decorations, each characterized by the predominance of a different color. Both in the rooms and in the common areas of the hotel, the furniture is made up of furniture belonging to the Aquila family.
