Abbadia di San Giorgio

When in the fifteenth century the Franciscan friars chose the town of Moneglia as their home, the abbey of San Giorgio was erected, formed by a cloister and a convent whose earliest records date back to 1396. Cardinal Clemente Dolera in the mid-16th century restored the convent, expanding it with a guesthouse and a prestigious library. A further restoration took place at the end of the seventeenth century, reaching up to the present with the same features, restored in 2004 thanks to a farsighted restoration promoted by Don D. Minetti with the supervision of the Superintendency for Cultural Heritage, which has enhanced and enhanced the ancient and original structure.

Today the Abbadia San Giorgio is used as a prestigious hotel, for guests who want a holiday full of comfort, immersed in the charming atmosphere full of history and tradition.
