Castello di Montegiove History
The Castle of Montegiove, known among the countrymen also as Villa Hagemann, is a neo-gothic style complex built at the end of 1800 just a short distance from Fano, on the first slopes of the homonymous hill from which you can enjoy the panorama of the sea, the cities and the hills around.
His story begins when the lawyer Lorenzo Trebbi and his brother Cesare, eager to build a holiday resort, bought the land with the first intention of building a sort of small turreted manor in the wake of the fashions of the time. With the project still under construction, the lawyer Trebbi was missing in 1901 and the property sold to Mr. Virgilio Omiccioli on behalf of his daughter Elina. The young woman completed the work and the structure began a period of great splendor until in 1930 an earthquake damaged its walls, damage restored by the new owner, dr. Flemut Hagemann who redesigned some rooms of the complex, obtaining also a private clinic.
Then follows a period of progressive decline, with the castle left to the attention of curious and vandal until the new millennium in the new property has decided not only to recover the villa in its original beauty, but also to adapt it to accommodation. The long conservative restoration, which lasted almost three years, made it possible to recover and enhance the original structure by recovering both elements such as graniglia floors, exposed ceiling beams and the colors of the plaster and by arranging the vast outdoor park that over the years was He was left free to grow up disorderly.
The rooms reserved for guests from the noble palace are refined and suggestive, with frescoes and furnishings in the late nineteenth century style, but also equipped with modern comforts and facilities such as air conditioning, internet connection and satellite TV. The other rooms are located near the park and offer rustic-style rooms with exposed beams, wrought-iron beds and chandeliers and decorative ceramic elements made by local artisans.
