Castello di Santa Vittoria History

One of the most famous images of the Langhe and Roero is that linked to the ancient village of Santa Vittoria and its imposing castle. Even a successful film from 1969, with Anna Magnani and Anthony Quinn, entitled The Secret of Santa Vittoria, narrated this place full of charm and history. Limiting ourselves only to the most recent events, we point out that in 1838 King Carlo Alberto of Savoy bought the building to make it one of his residences, while in recent years the imposing manor from the thirteenth century has been definitively transformed into a hotel.

The bedrooms are spacious and have stylish furnishings in the house, as well as the common rooms and the restaurant, which have fragments of ancient pictorial decorations.
The pride of the aristocratic hospitality that reigns at the castle is the kitchen, which uses the rich resources of a generous land renowned for its ancient food and wine culture. Protagonists on the table are above all truffles, mushrooms and fine wines, the latter taken from the Valdispinso farmhouse, about one kilometer away, linked to the castle by the same historical events and, today, by the same management. A particular elegance distinguishes the rooms, while the view from the large panoramic terrace is striking, where in summer you can eat outside. The hotel is equipped with minipalestra and a congress hall. The pool could not be in a happier position: placed on the edge of the castle walls, it offers a view of the surrounding countryside as far as the eye can see. But those who want to have a point of view at three hundred and sixty degrees will have to face the climb to the top of the medieval tower, an ancient sighting tower reborn as an exceptional viewpoint.
